Should I wear my wedding ring next to my engagement ring?

Discover in this article the traditions related to the placement of the engagement ring and wedding band.wedding ring. But the right answer is: do as you please! It's all about your everyday comfort, or the aesthetics you expect. If your ethical wedding ring has been specially designed to match your engagement ring, then go for it!

Which hand for my wedding ring?

Traditionally, brides and grooms are asked to wear their wedding rings on the ring finger of their left hand. This brings the union closer to the heart. The engagement ring is then placed on top of the wedding band.

As you can imagine, wedding and engagement rings are usually worn on the left hand. However, for some people, this hand or finger is not the most suitable. For example, if you have a manual job or use your hands a lot, we advise you to move your jewelry to your right hand to avoid damaging it. In some cases, the wedding ring is placed on the left hand and the engagement ring on the right.

Wedding ring and engagement ring: together or apart?

It all depends on how your jewelry is made. If you decide to match your handcrafted wedding band with your engagement ring, it's more logical and elegant to wear them on the same hand. This will bring a distinguished look to your everyday outfit. Also, depending on texture and ring width it's sometimes best to wear them separately.

Sometimes the gold wedding or engagement ring becomes too thin or too wide over the years. If this is the case for you, don't hesitate to make an appointment with a boutique to have them resized. It would be a shame to have to put them away in a drawer!
